Principal Training In order to make a successful transformation from general management practices into the field of education, careful adjustments need to be made that take into consideration the specific needs and characteristics of the education system. The IVN training program was constructed by a team of veteran school principals and senior hi-tech executives. IVN believes this course will help to develop the leadership and management skills of school principals as leaders of teaching and learning. Since September 2004, a group of @30 principals from diverse backgrounds (Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, Bedouins, religious and secular, urbanites and those from rural communities including kibbutzim) have been taking part in this ambitious training program designed to give participants the methodology and tools necessary for their daily responsibilities. The program is unique in combining active learning with direct mentorship of the principals in their schools. Results from the first year of the program reflect that the course is meeting a crucial gap in training principals. The second year of the course is focusing on implementation of the lessons learned in each of their schools. Partners: IVN designed the principal training program and received support from key partners including Checkpoint Software Technologies Ltd.
