Education Initiative (EI) – Municipal Intervention - The EI Municipal
Intervention addresses education and social welfare issues in the areas
of formal and informal education, children at-risk and early childhood.
The mission of the EI is to raise student achievement and self-esteem
while advancing management capabilities within the education system. The
program focuses on training teachers, principals and municipal leaders
to create a systemic shift in how the education system functions as a
whole, with an emphasis on work in the periphery. The EI aims to raise
student achievement in the basic skills of English, Mathematics, Hebrew
literacy, Civics, and Computers. To further this mission, IVN has
introduced the function of an 'integrator' for municipal interventions.
As an integrator, we coordinate between government bodies and other NGOs
working in local municipalities, emphasizing a culture that develops
joint objectives and priorities using measurement and evaluation tools.
These efforts are the basis for creating municipal-wide strategies for
strengthening the education system. IVN Municipal Intervention Chairmen: Benny Levin, Itsik Danziger,
Shuki Ehrlich, Edwin (Shalom) Slonim.
