But unfortunately Israel has also become one of the leading countries regarding scholastic disparities. The place of Israel in the life of the Jewish people is at a crucial, historical turning point.

| A country that once boasted being in the top 5 world-wide regarding literacy, is facing some very troubling statistics with regard to the serious decline in Israel’s education system: only 40% of students pass their matriculation exams; in a recent national exam, 50% of 8th graders failed math and 29% failed reading comprehension. |

| There is a clear decline in student's knowledge from year to year. The gap between what they should know and what they do know is widening at an overwhelming pace. |

IVN identifies, supports and increases the effectiveness of innovative models of educational change that have the potential of creating a sustainable and scalable change, in response to the needs of the Israeli education system.
IVN's approach to education is to provide self-sustaining solutions that will both strengthen the student body and current teaching and administrative personnel within the system, and create opportunities for new initiatives to enter and influence the system.
